IPod, again

Well, although I have no problem using IPod on my FreeBSD box, I got another question: my wife want to manager her IPod on her company notebook, which runs Windows and not allowed to install iTunes.

After some digging on the Internet, I found Yet another iPod manager. It runs on Max, Windows and Linux, and portable on these platforms: We just put an .exe (for Windows) on the IPod, and runs it on any machines running Windows.

Although the doc says we’ll need to run iTunes once, it turns out to be not necessory for my IPod video: after plug it in, the usual “New hardware detected” shows up, and I can use it directly on the IPod (Find it on the USB disk of IPod)

So, it’s a good idea to keep one on your IPod, just in case you want to copy some music from your friends’ PC which don’t have iTunes installed :)
